His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh 1921 – 2021

April 12, 2021

Statement of the Chairman of Shincliffe Parish on the death of His Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Our thoughts are with the Royal Family, especially with our Queen.

Prince Philip was a Consort who managed his role with aplomb. He also found time to encourage technical developments, and, of course, the hugely successful Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

‘The Grandfather of the Nation’ leaves a void, but will be long remembered.
